Street Style: A City Girl’s Guide

In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during those long winter months, street style is all about layering up. But it can be challenging to look fashionable and express your personal style with all those layers. I have come up with a few fun tips & tricks to helping you express your personal style & staying warm at the same time. LEOPARD IN THE CITY: A CLASSIC TREND

Honestly, layering up is great in Milwaukee from the Fall season through Spring. During the Fall, it could be really cold in the morning and super hot in the afternoon. In the Winter months, it can be all about warmer layers, such as sweaters and furs and leather jackets.

Leopard print has been a, “trend” that evolves each season in new and fun ways. Taking a bold print or pattern and pairing it with a graphic T-shirt, a trendy boot creates a dynamic and fun look. I really enjoy this particular look for a Saturday morning brunch & shopping with the girls. It’s fashion forward, reflects my personal style and is able to create comfort for shopping.

FAUX FUR COAT & STATEMENT NECKLACES: TEXTURE

If there is a fashionable faux fur coat, I own it. I am all about having a fun assortment of faux fur to add that extra splash of texture to my look. Bonus is that many of them are warm enough to wear on those cold Winter days. I love to pair a long black, faux fur with a great pair of light wash denim jeans and a patterned pump. When thinking about jewelry options during those cold Winter months, I really love creating balance in those larger faux fur pieces with a larger statement necklace. What a great way to create an additional flare of texture. When styling a fashionable street style outfit, it is all about creating subtle pops of pattern & texture.

Christmas Decor: Minimalism

If I were to be honest ,just a few years ago, I heard this word and thought, “never for me!” Give me all the things, glamorous and fabulous. Do it big or go home. Don’t get me wrong, I love to decorate with layers and layers of fabulous items to create such an amazing overall look. However, in the recent years I have really grown to love and appreciate this style of design for my own personal decor. I love how it creates the illusion of a bigger space than what you actually have. I also love the peaceful and relaxing environment it creates. “You may be surprised to learn emerging research has shown that your home can drastically affect your mood, and it can even make you sick. FALL FASHION: My Top Picks

FALL IS HERE

The most perfect smell of that perfect warm Carmel Macchiato, warm apple/cinnamon candles & the most perfect cozy sweater/jean/bootie combo. are the things that come to mind when I think Fall. Some of my favorite things about Fall is the decor and fashion! I love filling my home with beautiful pumpkins, throws and candles. But my favorite thing is to fill my closet with a few trending and creative looks to embrace the new season.

Suits, Dark Romance, Military Inspired, Lace, Animal prints, Utility, Neon colors, Bougie Girl, & Sequence, OH MY! So many fun and beautiful fashion items falling onto the runway this year. I really love that there is a fun trend for any girl. And how you can make the trends your own to fit what you love in clothing and accessories.

MY TOP PICKS

Burnt Orange

Burnt orange is such a obvious color for Fall. I mean we see it in all the Marketing in major and smaller retailers, we decorate our homes with orange pumpkins as we drink our spiced drinks, if that’s your thing. However for me, there is something so comforting and warm about this particular color. I decided to style this super cute Burnt Orange dress with a black moto jacket and a leopard print belt and a pretty deep purple earring to create a fun pop of color and texture to the entire look. I love the color blocking between the black, orange and small amount of eggplant purple in the earrings. Such a fun way for your eye to move around this look. You could also place and oversized sweater over the dress, paired with knee high boots and that would be a warmer, more casual way to where this dress.

That Little Black Trench Coat

What’s your favorite jacket or coat to wear throughout the Fall season? For me I think the most there are a few must’s. That perfect Moto leather jacket, soft textured, velvet Jacket & that perfect trench coat are staples for me. Each item is essential for each piece in my wardrobe! Denims, dresses and more, the pairing capabilities are really endless. I really love a solid black trench coat. There is just something so classically chic and easy to insert into any outfit in your Fall wardrobe. For this look I took a black, silk dress and paired it with a black trench coat, then added fun pops in the accessories.

Trench coats paired with belts are trending strong right now and I personally love this trend. It takes a classic and spices it up a bit with a fun pop of color, texture and pattern to your look. I am always one to be the lady in black on a day-to-day basis, so this is going to be one of my favorite looks this Fall. I love the paring of gold in the jewelry. It creates a fun and classy connection to the leopard print belt. That pop of white is such a fun and easy way to have fun this Fall with your wardrobe. Some may say, ” No white after Labor day.” I say, I wear what I want and style it how I feel it’s most comfortable to me. I love a great set of trends, but if you don’t love the trends, don’t wear them. Wear what you love and what reflects your personal style.
