How to dress for date night on a cold day

What is the first thing that comes to your mind when I say, Cold Weather?  Giant, oversized parkas, hats, gloves, warm drinks? I think there is a misconception out there that cold weather mean you have to take your fashion hat off and exchange it for warm, ugly cold weather gear. So what does one wear during these cold days especially on a date night?

“Life is too short to wear boring clothes.” – Carly Cushnie

STEP ON HOW TO GET THERE

The first thing to remember when dressing with style in cold weather on date night is, your personal style. What is your personal style? What textures, patterns, colors do you love to wear?

Next select warm items that you feel best in. Maybe it is a sweater, dark denims, tall shaft boots. Maybe it’s a dress and your favorite fur.

Finally combined a look that makes you feel and look great and stay warm. Also remember to dress in layers, that way if you get too warm when you’re inside you can simply remove a layer.

Cooler Fall Weather? Add a black turtle neck to this black dress and textured tights and it’s the perfect look for date night on a colder Fall evening. If you have been reading my blogs for a while you’ll know my love, aka obsession with the Target Brand. So you will not be surprised when I tell you that most of this little outfit is super budget friendly and is from Target. 🙂 Also, I think I finally found a hat that actually looks good on my head and it’s under $25. What a steal! This little herringbone wrap is also from target and it was only $7. These boots were on major discount last year, during an end of season sale and were only: $20. Dressing fabulously fashionable during these cold weather months does not have to cost alot.

During the Winter months this look is a must wear. The sheer, embellished top and leather pants are so perfect for a date night. Then adding this faux fur coat to the mix will add warmth, comfort and the final icing on this fashionable, style forward outfit. PRO-TIP: When wearing larger pieces, balance them with larger jewelry pieces such as these Kendra Scott Earrings and this bracelet from Balmin.

FINAL THOUGHTS

1. Choose warm pieces that you love.

2. Then find larger pieces to balance the look out. Such as: handbags, earrings, bracelets.

3. Makeup: Add a bolder lip or smokey eye to your look to further balance your overall look.
