LEOPARD PRINT BLAZER, BY THE LOFT

20200102_192736

This leopard print blazer is high quality, from The Loft and because leopard print, at least for me, is a neutral it is a total win. And it was only: $9! SCORE! I paired it with vintage denim jeans, black, velvet pumps and this gold, faux leather clutch, $4.99.  You can put an over sized, white collared T-Shirt, vintage T-Shirt or a little camisole underneath. The options are endless.

MILITARY JACKET, BY ZARA

20200102_192805

This Zara, Military, Army green jacket was only, $7.99 at Good Will. Great cut, fit and style for such an amazing price point. I paired it with vintage, boyfriend denims, white booties, a navy blue turtle neck knit sweater and these little faux diamond earrings from Banana Republic. I also would love this jacket to be paired with a black dress and knee high boots. You could also wear it with a vintage T-shirt and a leather skirt with black pumps. This is such an amazing and necessary staple to your wardrobe.

If you are interested in shopping Good will, it can take some hunting, but I promise the gathering is so much fun and worth it! ***Happy Shopping***

My Sizzling Summer Favorites

Finally Summer has arrived! If you are a fashion Midwestern girl like myself you wondered if it ever would arrive! If you are like me Summer is your favorite season of the year! Fun days with friends in the sun, drinking cocktails by the pool or sandy beaches. And so many fun events to attend in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area! Summer time is the most wonderful time of the year, if you were to ask me. But one of my favorite parts of Summer, other than the beautiful weather, is the fun fashion it brings.

As Memorial Day is right around the corner I thought it was the perfect timing to share  my very favorite Summer items with you. Anything from my swimwear, every day wear to my beauty box hits the top of my must-have list for this fabulous season of Summer.

SWIMWEAR

Finding the perfect swimsuit can be challenging at times. My swimwear goals for this particular Summer were to find a few great one pieces! I really think that if the fabric, design & cut work well with your body type you are in business for the perfect match! Make a list and check it twice. Know your body type. Understand what you do and do not want to accentuate. Ask a best friend ( it’s likely they will be the most honest with you.) Finally, set a budget. To be honest, I think swimwear can be really overpriced. And what can often happen when no budget is set, you find the perfect one and end up spending a bunch of  $$$$$ on a piece or two that you will realistically wear for a few months. Unless you are out on the beaches everyday, that may not be the best option for you. If you’re like me, you find yourself magnetic to the pricey and the fabulous pieces. 🙂 So I found two of my top favorites for this summer that are what I would consider easy on your handbag & nice on the thighs 🙂

Sunscreen

If you are the whitest, palest, German girl, like myself you will thank me for my suggestions on Sunscreen. Find it, wear it! 🙂 Finding the perfect sunscreen these days can actually be really confusing. There are a ton of different products on the market who all market something different. Some say don’t go out of the house with out 100, others say 50 and plus is best. How do you know what is best and who you can trust? Did you know that your skin is your largest organ on your entire body? And that when you apply sunscreen, lotion, makeup on your skin that product goes directly into your bloodstream.  So read the labels, know the ingredients & what potential health risks those ingredients involve. I love sifting my products through http://www.Ewg.org. They are devoted to healthy living & providing education on the link between certain ingredients & disease. I have been using Beauty Counter’s Sunscreen, “Countersun” since last year and I can’t tell you how impressed I am. Not only is this product top of the recommended list of sunscreens on a great source to funnel products through, but it actually works amazingly. I do NOT burn on it. My son does NOT burn on it. My hubby when he uses it, does NOT burn on it.( When you follow the directions.)

Make me under

When going to the beach I personally do not love wearing a ton of makeup. Why not? Because I’m just going to melt that right off. If you are similar to me, you melt when it’s hot outside 🙂 And this melting momma is not feeling that not so cute look. So I love to start with something really light such as a Tinted moisturizer. I choice the, “Dew Skin”, NO.2 from Beauty Counter. It does all the things: color correcting, anti-aging moisturizer, sunscreen built in. YES! PLEASE! Then I like to add a little loose, matifying powder to seal the deal  & resist the oil on my skin away. Throw on some bronzer & mascara on & I am all set!!

Skin Care

Summer time can bring out the oily in many skin types. Especially if you are already an oily skin type such as myself. I created an assortment of a few key products your skin and you will thank me for.

Detox & purify with Beauty Counter’s Charcoal Mask. Soak up that unnecessary oil, reduce pore size & eliminate future breakouts.

Zits be gone & done with the most amazing on-the-spot acne treatment, “SOS treatment“. Personal story on this, I have had zits appear from nowhere on Monday and are nowhere to be found on Wednesday or even sooner!

Wash it all away with my favorite Charcoal bar by Beauty counter. Your face will literally be left squeaky clean & fresh!

READY-TO-WEAR

White and bright dress is always such a fresh look for a summer day. I love to pair this dress with these neutral platforms and these earrings. Do you wear white before Memorial day? I think its just fine to wear white before Memorial day! As long as the fabric is seasonally appropriate you are all good to do so! Be your beautiful, fabulous self and display your style everyday! Let’s talk shoes! I could devote and entire blog to shoes and maybe one day I just might! Just one glance at my closet and you’ll realize I am a bit obsessed! For these little platform lovelies, I am really loving them! I just recently got them from Amazon & they are perfect if you don’t want to bare your naked toes yet? Anyone else in desperate need of a pedicure like myself!?! One day I will fit this on my schedule! To be perfectly honest, I am not too crazy about the strap, as it’s a bit of an odd set up. However, if you can  move past that element, then I promise you will love them as much as I do.

20190524_151607

How much do I love a chic & fabulous casual jeans & t-shirt summer look! As a boy momma, where the days are long and messy, I am always looking for ways to insert my style, yet be appropriate in those little special moments of my life with my toddler. This t-shirt was a gift from my amazing hubby during a recent work trip! He knows me so well! Adding little touches of fun texture in the hat and earrings complete my look perfectly. My black belt comes in a set of belts for only $17.99. ( A set includes: Black, Tan White and Grey.) WOW! Such an amazing deal! The style is chic and actually reminds me of a style of belts growing up as a kid! Isn’t it great how fashion renews & rejuvenates itself?

A Walk on the Wild Side

Leopard print at first glance can be a bit wild to consider wearing in clothing for many of us. However if you take some time and learn how much fun and easy it is to dress with it, I promise you will incorporate it into your daily looks more than you think.

There are several ways to think about leopard print and several different ways to pair it with other patterns in a fun pattern mixing frenzy for your next look. Or you can piece it as a grand statement if you choose. Which way will you try first?

Use it as a neutral. Often times when dressing for a special event or our everyday chic looks, we may want to use a great solid neutral. Maybe in a shoe, handbag or a jacket. Inside of using a typical nude patent pump, for example, try exchanging it for a leopard print pump. This pattern will do what you wanted, act as a neutral, however, it will do the unexpected and add just a touch more of dynamic punch to your outfit. I also really love adding a little color in my makeup look, maybe a pop of a eye lid or lip color. This will will create a fun, dynamic balance between the bold leopard pattern & the pop of color in your makeup.

Pattern mix with it. I think pattern mixing can be thought of the strange unknown if you have not attempted the dabble into it. But to be completely honest, it’s incredibly fun & easy. To give a little example, let’s say you are going to wear your favorite polka-dot dress. You can add a fun thin leopard print belt and leopard print pump to the mix. Another really simple and fun step would be to take an oversized solid color sweater, add your favorite plaid, blanket scarf and add leopard booties. Just a touch of pattern mixing is fun & adds a perfect chic splash to each of your looks.

Use it as a statement piece. Pair a fun leopard print blazer with a little black dress. Or a pair  of great faux leather leggings, leopard print faux fur jacket and a black cami. You can also take a black dress and pair it with a faux fur jacket and pumps.
